An ordinary traffic insurance contract is, pursuant to the Traffic Insurance Act, a compulsory insurance contract, which must be entered into for all of the vehicles registered in the Traffic Register. The exceptions are the vehicles the MS, M2S categories (vehicles entered in the Register of Off-Road Vehicles list of the Traffic Register, which must not participate in traffic).
Ordinary traffic insurance contracts are entered into for an unspecified term, and should also be entered into for those vehicles that do not drive on public roads on a daily basis. The conclusion of an ordinary traffic insurance contract is free of charge. The contract can be entered into by the owner of the vehicle, its authorised user, the user indicated in the registration certificate, or any other person who has been authorised by a properly written authorisation letter.
